Kurzfassung englisch:
This paper shows the operation of permanent magnet synchronous motors without speed- and position sensors in speed- and position-controlled drive applications. Starting from classical field-oriented control methods, a speed-sensorless drive is presented. The basic idea is to estimate the actual speed and position of the drive by the INFORM method (low speed and standstill) and EMF-based models (high speed). Measurements on a position-controlled industrial system verify the high quality of the sensorless system, which reduces the hardware costs of the drive and increases the reliability by eliminating mechanical components.
