Kurzfassung englisch:
A novel low-cost sensorless field-oriented controlled traction drive system based on an external rotor PM synchronous
motor (PMSM) for light vehicles is realized using a combined INFORM/EMF rotor position estimator.
Hence, position sensors like hall elements are omitted by full starting torque capability. Furthermore, for reduction
of hardware costs, a DC-link-based current measurement is implemented, replacing expensive phase
current sensors by low cost shunt-based DC link measurement. For starting, a modified INFORM procedure
is implemented, ensuring correct initialization of rotor position within some milliseconds without remarkable
torque production or rotor oscillation. Starting with a series-production PM motor, the rotor geometry is optimized
with respect to overload capability in INFORM- (low speed-) range in a second step using numerical
field calculation (MAXWELL 2D). Measurement results on a realized light vehicle drive are presented.
