This is a summary of the biographical interviews conducted with 107 women and 33 men working in the ICT sector as part of the project "Widening Women’s Work in Information and Communication Technology" (WWW-ICT). The interviews were carried out in seven European countries (Austria, Belgium, France, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, and the UK). The analysis combined two strategies - to on the one hand preserve the biographical aspect of informants’ narratives and to on the other hand look at more general patterns across individual biographies. Among other results life story patterns were identified: They reflect some of the colour the women themselves gave to their narratives.

Der vorliegende Bericht ist Teil des Projekts "Widening Women’s Work in Information and Communication Technology" (WWW-ICT). Er fasst die Interviews zusammen, die in sieben europäischen Ländern (Belgien, England, Frankreich, Irland, Italien, Österreich und Portugal) mit 107 Frauen und 33 Männern, die im IT-Bereich arbeiten, geführt wurden. Die Analyse verfolgt zwei Ziele - zum einen die biographischen Aspekte der Erzählungen in ihrem Kontext zu belassen, aus diesem Kontext heraus zu verstehen und zum anderen über die einzelnen Biographien hinaus allgemeine Muster zu identifizieren. "Life Story Patterns" wurden identifiziert: Sie spiegeln die Reichhaltigkeit der Erzählungen der Frauen wider.
