English abstract:
The discussion of intelligent and responsive buildings must consider that decisions regarding building design, construction, operation, and decomissioning, have multi-faceted and complex implications for people and environment. This paper explores if such discussion can benefit from a general theory of habitability and sustainability that is inspired by concepts in human ecology, information theory, and thermodynamics.
