English abstract:
Fault injection is an important technique for testing distributed algorithms. The methods range from simulation over software-based to hardware fault injection. This paper presents a hybrid hardware-software fault injection environment that can be used to evaluate fault tolerance properties for distributed algorithms with minimal influence on the real-time properties of the system under test with the additional benefit of injecting faults according to a global fault model.
