English abstract:
This paper addresses the necessary conditions for the emergence of a cogitative building. A cogitative building is defined here as one that possesses a complex representation of its context (surroundings, micro-climate), its physical constituents (components, systems), and its processes (occupancy, indoor environmental controls). Moreover, it can dynamically update this representation and use it for virtual experiments toward regulation of its systems and states. A summary of the required key technologies and the related state of their development is presented, together with general reflections on problems and prospects of cogitative buildings.
