English abstract:
The mechanical characteristics of a ceramic composite material using a polysilazane-derived binder phase and alumina filler were investigated. Green bodies with high stability and good machinability were manufactured by warm-pressing of the polysilazane-coated filler powder, thereby thermally cross-linking the polymer which was used in a volume fraction of 20 to 40 Vol.%. Shrinkage during pyrolysis was very low, reaching a maximum of 2.3 % at 1200 °C.
