English abstract:
This paper is about analyzing modeling practices in automotive industry and electronics design. Based on ethnographic observations in modeling sessions in three case studies, we tried to understand the modeling scope in real work environments and to identify the use context and user requirements to modeling processes, approaches and tools. Our focus was on a specific modeling environment called Active Knowledge Modeling (AKM). We describe some issues showing qualities of modeling as a process and of models as artifacts: granularity, different approaches and notations, de/composition, views, accessibility, reuse, interoperability, knowledge base, and models as design tools.
