English abstract:
The mechanical properties of open cell structures are investigated by Finite Element simulations. Various three-dimensional generic structures built from an elastic-plastic bulk material are treated both with regular architectures and disordered derivations thereof. Their elastic and elastic-plastic behavior as well as their susceptibility to deformation localization and their defect sensitivity are analyzed. The direction dependent responses are predicted and the governing deformation mechanisms at cell level are identified.
