English abstract:
This paper presents a research effort that focused on the collection and analysis of data
pertaining to the thermal conditions in (and outdoor microclimatic conditions in the
immediate vicinity of) traditional bath buildings in Egypt, Turkey, Morocco, and Algeria.
Thereby, buildingsī thermal performance, thermal comfort conditions, transition between
various spaces, and the dependency of indoor climate on outdoor environmental parameters
were studied. The results provide the opportunity for an objective assessment of the actual
performance of these buildings and evaluation of their strengths and weaknesses in view of
pertinent health and comfort criteria.
