English abstract:
This paper reports on an ongoing project (CAMPUS 21), which explores the potential of integrated
security, control, and building management software systems in improving the energy efficiency of
buildings. The project involves participants from both academic institutions and industry and is supported by
the European Union. The main objective of the project is to explore the possibility of comparing the energy
and indoor-environmental performance of a number of existing facilities before and after the implementation of
monitoring-based control improvement measures.
