English abstract:
Design methods for buildings“ systems control have not kept pace with the integration requirements
of increasingly complex technologies for heating, cooling, ventilation, and lighting of buildings. Decisions
regarding the environmental control systems“ type and devices, the number and extent of control zones, as well
as the number and position of sensors seldom follow a structured approach with traceable reasoning. Moreover,
decision processes in one domain (e.g. thermal control systems) are rarely coordinated at a deep level with other
domains (e.g. visual control systems). Such lack of structure and integration is likely to cause inefficiencies
in the design and operation of buildings and their systems. In this context, the present contribution discusses a
generative schema for representation of buildings“ systems control architecture. The schema is inclusive vis-àvis
multiple control domains and associated control zones. Moreover, it allows for an integrated and structured
distribution of systems“ control logic.
