English abstract:
The Internet of Things (IoT) aims at interconnecting billion of devices and exposing
their capabilities to the Internet. The underlying IoT domains range from supply
chains, pervasive computing, wireless sensor networks, smart homes and building
automation to smart grids and finally also smart cities. Recent developments
suggest to use IPv6 based communication at the field level providing RESTful Web
service interfaces for device interaction, due to their main advantage of open standards
and interoperability. A major standardization approach is handled by the IETF
working group on CoRE providing the Constrained Application Protocol (CoAP). By
defining a new system, the challenge of integration with existing field devices arises.
Therefore, this paper presents a transparent protocol gateway enabling seamless
integration of existing KNX devices into the IoT based on the CoRE protocol stack.
The approach taken focuses on a smart interaction between "native" IoT devices
and existing KNX devices.
