This issue of the International Journal of Architectural Computing includes a selection of - substantially revised and extended - papers presented originally at the 33rd International Conference on Education and Research in Computer Aided Architectural Design in Europe (eCAADe 2015) held in September 2015 at the TU Wien, Austria. The conference explored the utopian promise of real-time in architecture finally approach- ing everyday practice, though not always as expected: Our contributions expand the notion of `real-time´ and contribute to the overall debate over its present and future role within our domain.
