English abstract:
A novel hybrid current limiting circuit breaker contains a newly
developed ultra-fast opening transfer switch based on the principle of
an electrodynamic repulsion drive. A 3D finite element model is used to
evaluate the eddy currents and forces in the moving contact part caused
by the current impressed in the driving coil. Multipoint constraints,
both for the magnetic vector potential and the electric scalar potential
allow for the direct harmonic and the coupled transient motion analysis.
