English abstract:
Conventional handling and assembly methods used in the macro scale are not directly adaptable to Microsystems assembly. This is due not only to the high precision required and to the small size of the handled objects, but also to the effects caused by the scaling of the involved physical laws. This problematic contributes to difficulting the automation of microassembly procedures. In this paper, it is presented a semiautonomous station for handling and assembly of Microsystems supported by image processing. This station has been developed on the basis of an innovative concept for microhandling and assembly assisted by image processing and pattern recognition based functionalities. The mapping of the assembly area with automatic object detection and model generation, as well as image based control of the stages and tools, allow to automate many easy microassembly tasks, assisting the operator in more complex operations.
