English abstract:
For each country and region it is of essential importance to ensure, improve and strengthen its position on the MEMS market (Micro Electro Mechanical Systems). If it can succeed in gaining a substantial share of the world’s market for micro-technology this will strengthen the overall power and competitiveness of its research and industry for the future. Therefore, there is a strong need to set up the critical density of experts in MEMS. Only if the human resources are strong enough and well developed will there be a chance of successfully competing with other regions in the world and withstanding the pressure originating from their products on the domestic market. Making use of the new technologies available to as many interested sites as possible requires the provision of dedicated training strategies and materials. If in addition these training strategies lend themselves to fast, easy and cheap distribution to any interested site, it will give research and industry a chance to become and remain up-to-date in the field of micro-engineering.
This paper presents some aspects of the education, practice and training program created by the Austrian Society for Microsystem Technology (OGMS).
