English abstract:
The refurbishment of large hydro-generators is a growing market. Special attention has to be paid when refurbishing hydro-generators. Due to their great live expectancy, new design roles collide with old ones. Thus, more detailed investigations have to be made during the design process for a refurbishment of a machine. To be able to accurately predict the behaviour of such refurbished machines and to fulfil the contractual requirements, modern numerical field
computation methods as well as analytical methods are used.
