English abstract:
This paper describes how the INFORM method for position detection was first implemented in a commercial converter. The INFORM method is presented in comparison with other sensorless control principles. Possibilities to overcome the 180° error inherent in the system and the low sensitivity to parameter variation are discussed. A summary of hardware requirements and an outlook to future developments are also given.
