"Torque Calculation of Electrical Machines Based on Distributions of Surface Forces along the Stator Boundary as well as Volume Forces Inside Conducting and Iron Domains";
Vortrag: IEEE International Electric Machines and Drives Conference (IEMDC), Madison, Wisconsin, USA; 01.06.2003 - 04.06.2003; in: "Proceedings of the IEEE International Electric Machines and Drives Conference (IEMDC)", (2003), ISBN: 0-7803-7818-0; S. 595 - 600.

Kurzfassung englisch:
The generated mechanical torque in an electrical machine can be
determined in several ways from electromagnetic field quantities, e.g.
with the virtual work method or the Maxwell stress tensor method. The
difficulty of allocating local acting force densities is skipped by
both methods. Therefore, the performed investigation proposes a novel
formulation for the mechanical torque calculation, which is based on
local volume force densities in current carrying conductors and iron
domains as well as distributions of surface force densities along
material stator boundaries.
