English abstract:
To maintain quality, performance and competiveness, the finite element method is increasingly utilized not only for the verification of contractual values of existing transformers, but also for the design optimization of transformers. The paper presents 3D finite element analyses of power transformers in the range of 30 MVA to 200 MVA with the aim of an optimization of the winding support, the core clamping system and the tank wall shape with regard to electric field distribution and eddy current losses. The results calculated from various finite element analyses will be compared with measurements.
