English abstract:
The calculation of eddy currents in the core clamping parts and the tank
wall of power transformers is a matter of interest with the initial design
and design optimization of large power transformers. This is due to the
fact, that the eddy currents in these regions are obviously different
between normal operational conditions and measurements of load losses
with short circuit conditions. The presented analysis method uses 3D
nonlinear time-harmonic finite element calculations with a nested multi%
grid solver. Consequently, the occurring short calculation times will meet
the increasing requirements and challenges in the modern design of power
transformers.
