English abstract:
Multi-tone signals are widely used to characterise RF- and microwave devices. The use of these types of signals is very convenient as they are easy to generate and allow a flexible parameterisation. These facts make them an ideal candidate for the substitution of other more complex signals. This paper presents an algorithm which adopts the parameters of a multi-tone signal to achieve similar properties as a given reference signal and a measurement setup which uses the approximated signal for device characterisation. The performance of this algorithm is shown in simulation and measurement.
