English abstract:
For quality management and safety critical applications, methods of rotor bar fault-detection are essential. The method proposed in this paper is based on a monitoring of the asymmetrical behavior of the rotor time constant. The rotor time constant depending on the magnetizing angular reference to the rotor coordinate system is estimated and observed. This is done by magnetizing and demagnetizing the machine in a rotor fixed direction, measuring the time constant and showing the modulation over one pole pitch. The resulting signal is the decisive factor for the expert system whether the rotor cage is defective or faultless.
