Kurzfassung englisch:
As the device constrictions for micro- and macro-satellites are quite different in respect to size and mechanical stability, but similar in respect to accuracy, the designers of satellite antennas which have to be adapted from macro- to a micro-satellites have to deal with several restrictions and compromises, but also can gain reliability and reduce costs.
In this paper, we describe the design and methodology for a modification of an Selena Meteosat λ/4 to a UHF frequency to be used on the SSETI-express satellite.
We also analyze the advantages and disadvantaged of reusing already space qualified hardware for student applications.
