Kurzfassung englisch:
In this paper a dielectrophoretic (DEP) particle separator with adaptive sensitivity is presented. The presence of a force on a polarizable particle due to a non-uniform electric field is used to force particles on certain trajectories in a microchannel depending on their size. Since the dielectrophoretic force scales with the third power of the particle radius the sensitivity of this device can be influenced by tuning the actuating electric field. This allows to adjust the point of operation of the device to a range of high sensitivity.
