"Electrode Surface Effects for the Detection of Micro-organisms";
Poster: 12th Inter. Symp. on Interdisciplinary Electromagnetic, Mechanic & Biomedical Problems (ISEM 2005), Gastein; 11.09.2005 - 14.09.2005; in: "Short Paper Proceedings ISEM 2005", (2005), ISBN: 3-902105-00-1; S. 216 - 217.

Kurzfassung englisch:
As well known, the detection of micro-organisms - e.g. in drinking water - can be based on conductivity changes of the sample medium caused by metabolc production of organic micro-ions. However, much more effective detection may result from the evaluation of the electric conductance of the surface of metal electrodes in contact with the sample medium. The mechanism is explained by changes of the water/ion layer as the interface between electron conductance and ionic conductance.
