English abstract:
The eddy currents in the stator clamping system of large hydro generators
caused by the fundamental and third harmonic waves of the excitating end
region magnetic field are evaluated in detail. Both time-harmonic and
nonlinear transient calculations are carried out with a fully 3D approach
of the generator pole pitch. The results obtained from both analysis
methods are compared regarding the total eddy current losses as well as
their local distributions.
