Kurzfassung englisch:
The so-called h-shape flow-through resonator chamber
concepts for particle (bio-cell) separation is analyzed
utilizing appropriate mathematical models. The mathematical
modelling of the laminar flow velocity field is
combined with the acoustic force based velocity field of
the particles relative to the suspension medium. This
allows a complete modelling of the particle separation
performance of the resonator design version under investigation.
An example for a separation chamber design
optimized by use of the mathematical model is presented
and the calculated particle traces in the
resonators are shown. The dynamic performance of the
described flow-through separation chamber is
documented by a DV movie clip.
Keywords: ultrasound, biotechnology, cell filters, cell
separation, emulsion splitting
