"Ion-induced kinetic electron emission from HOPG with different surface orientation";
Europhys. Lett., 70 (2005), 6; 768 - 774.

English abstract:
Total otal electron emission yields for impact of H+, H2
+, C+, N+, O+ and Ar+
ions (impact energy nergy 2-10 keV) on clean highly ighly orien riented ted pyrolytic yrolytic graphite (HOPG) ha have been een
measured. An enhancemen enhancement in the he electron yield of more than a factor of 2 is found when
comparing results esults for di !eren erently ly orien oriented ted HOPG OPG surfaces urfaces (orien orientation ation of the he graphite la layers rs
with resp respect ect to the he surface). By analyzing nalyzing these hese data we elucidate the he influence of electron
transp transport ort on kinetic electron emission and deriv erive direction-dep irection-dependen endent mean escap escape depths for
lo low-energy w-electrons.
