"Yeast cell filtration with ultrasonic radiation force separators";
Vortrag: Seminar Institut für Allgemeine Physik (IAP), TU Wien; 22.01.2008.

Kurzfassung deutsch:
Particles in suspensions can be micro-manipulated by so-called acoustic radiation forces induced by ultrasonic plane wave fields. In the so-called "h-shape" resonator this effect is exploited to separate cells from the medium they are suspended in. Simulations using FLUENT® will be compared to experimental data obtained using yeast cell suspensions. The influence of the separation process on cell viability will be examined and compared to cell viability using a different ultrasonic separation setup.
