We report on the pressure dependence of novel skutterudites {Sr,Ba}Pt₄Ge₁₂ regarding normal and superconducting properties. The pressure dependence of the superconducting transition temperature Tc is weak for both compounds. In case of SrPt₄Ge₁₂, Tc(p) follows fairly well the behaviour of the electronic density of states at the Fermi energy calculated for a set of decreasing lattice parameters, thereby mimicking hydrostatic pressure up to 20 kbar.
