Starting from trans-4-hydroxy-L-proline, (1R,4S,5R)-endo-N,N-dimethyl-2-azabicyclo[2.2.1]heptane-5-methanamine (I) was synthesized. The target compd. is precursor of antibacterial quinolone carboxylic acids.
