"Novel tocopheryl compounds. Part 15: One-pot formation of furotocopheryl derivates.";
Tetrahedron, 59 (2003), 3231 - 3235.

English abstract:
Reaction of tocopheryl bromide or chromanyl bromide with tri-Ph phosphine produced phosphomium salt intermediates (), which further reacted with acyl chlorides to novel furotocopherol compds. in good yields. The cyclization proceeded according to a two step esterification-Wittig mechanism. Similarly, furotocopheryl dimer was prepd. starting from oxalyl chloride. The coupling of tocopheryl phosphonium salt onto modified polystyrene provided a new, vitamin E-loaded resin.
