R1Z1ZNHZ2R2 (Z = pyrimidine-4,2-diyl, Z1 = pyridine-2,4-diyl)[I; R1 = F or Cl; R2 = halo, (halo)alkyl,(di)(alkyl)amino, Ph, etc.; Z2 = 6-(un)substituted-1,3-phenylene] were prepd. Thus, 2,4-dichloropyrimidine was arylated by 2-fluoro-4-tributylstannylpyridine (prepn. given) and the product aminated by PhNH2 to give I (R1 = F, R2 = H, Z2 = 1,3-phenylene).
