Kurzfassung englisch:
When carrying out absorption spectroscopy while using a flow cell (1), preferably an FTIR-ATR flow cell, for example, in the course of process monitoring of biotechnological processes, an ultrasonic field is generated in the form of a standing wave in the flow cell (1) with the aid of a piezo transducer (12). Particles present in the flow cell (1), e.g. on a sensor surface, are pushed in the direction of the pressure node planes (20) of the ultrasonic standing wave field as well as, inside these planes, in the direction of an axis (22) of the flow cell (1) where they are collected to form particle agglomerates (23). The ultrasonic field can then be deactivated, and the particle agglomerates (23) can precipitate or can be evacuated from the flow cell with the aid of liquid flowing through the flow cell (1).
