We investigate a variant of purely communicating P systems which are able to
analyse multisets or even strings given as sequences of terminal symbols
taken from the environment. We show that analysing P systems equipped with
only one membrane and antiport rules of radius two only can already
recognize any recursively enumerable language of multisets and strings,
respectively.
