Designing and implementing a distributed embedded system is a complex error-prone task and if the system does not work as it is intended, debugging is challenging due to the many different possible sources of error. In order to support a smooth development, we propose an integrated tool support for the design, implementation and configuration of a distributed time-triggered embedded system. Therefore, we have chosen the open source tool GME (Generic Modeling Environment) as graphical modeling tool, which supports a meta-level design approach.
