English abstract:
Nowadays medical research develops new treatments and methods continuously. Therefore the output is increasing inexorably which means that there is a lot of complex data. It is often very difficult to control and visualize this multi-dimensional information. The point is that it needs new and innovative concepts and tools. This masterīs thesis describes the development of a prototype which is able to visualize highly structured data within two dimensions. The most important aspect of the tool is the visualization technique behind it, called Stardinates. The input data is derived from Anorexie patients and was collected through tests and questionnaires.
StarVIS represents a complete prototype which allows users to display this new visualization technique - Stardinates - to enhance the cognition of coherence concerning the disease pattern Anorexia nervosa.
The prototype was developed by using the C++ application framework Qt, which includes a class library and tools for cross-platform development.
