English abstract:
The aggressive competition that occurs in the automotive domain leads to a high demand for improvements on the car manufacturers. Nowadays, most of the innovations emanate from electronics and the use of communication networks. While this new system architecture decreases costs and enables the development of new functionalities, it hardly requires high dependability since the consequences in case of failure might be catastrophic. To that aim, accurate testing both during the development phases and during field operation is required. It is the aim of this work to present an approach for testing time-triggered communication services such as the FlexRay protocol (a) transparently to the system architecture and (b) transparently to the system operation.
