English abstract:
Domed roof of a rock concert hall.
The steel construction of the domed roof of a rock concert hall is described. The roof is supported by an existing concrete shell. It is an extremely flat welded construction made of rolled or welded I-sections disposed in hoop and meridian direction. The steel structure has to sustain the acoustic ceiling and a welded steel grillage for fixing light projectors and loudspeakers. Due to high compression forces in the radial beams, a second order analysis comprising geometrical imperfections must be performed. The acoustic dimensioning of the ceiling (sound levels up to 120 dBA must be reduced to 45 dBA!) required the calculation of the first three eigenfrequencies of the system.
