English abstract:
The paper adresses finite element formulations for automobile tires considering nonlinear material behavior, large strains and finite deformations while using efficient computational strategies for realsitic large-scale 3D-FE simulations. A new 3D finite element model for cord-reinforced rubber composites is employed for the numerical representation of the reinforcing plies. A hyperelastic Mooney materiakl law in conjunction with a hybrid finite element formulation is used for the modelling of the rubber material. A strategy for the coupling of two FE-meshes with different degrees of discretization is developed. Use of an iterative solver is proposed to improve the computational efficiency of the simulations. A 3D simulation of frictional static contact of a tire on a rigid road surface is presented.
