English abstract:
An iterative synthesis method is presented to compute the response of primary and secondary structures by a decomposition into undamped substructure modes. Interface conditions as well as inelastic deformations are treated as additional fictitious loadings and their intensities are calculated in an iterative process. It is shown by comparison with a fully coupled analysis that this method yields always nearly exact results. Numerical examples are shown for a 4-storey frame structure under harmonic and earthquake excitation with a SDOF oscillator as the secondary system.
