English abstract:
The influence of secondary structures on the dynamic response of elastic and elastic-plastic shear frames is studied experimentally and numerically. Small-scale three-storey model frames, with an elastic SDOF oscillator attached, are considered for the case of in-plane sinusoidal support excitation. The columns of the first floor are made of soft aluminum and they behave elastic-plastic in the applied range of dynamic loading. An elastic secondary structure is mounted to the second and third floor, alternatively. Experimental results are compared with those obtained by computational simulations. They are in very good agreement. However, material properties have to be determined carefully. The elastic-plastic shear buildings are sensitive with regard to any changes of the secondary structure parameters.
