English abstract:
Flexural vibrations of slightly curved elastic-plastic sandwich beams with thick layers are analyzed. Geometric nonlinear effects arising from longitudinally immovable supports are taken into account. Layerwise continuous and linear in-plane displacement fields are implemented, and as such, model both the global and the local inelastic response of sandwich beams. By means of proper definition of an effective cross-sectional rotation, the complex problem reduces to the simpler case of a homogenized shear deformable beam on fixed supports with effective stiffness and proper boundary conditions. Geometric nonlinear terms of the equation of motion are treated as equivalent lateral forces. Resultants of the plastic strains are determined. The response of the linear elastic homogenized shear deformable beam due to the action of the plastic strain resultants, the given and the equivalent lateral forces is determined incrementally by iteration.
