English abstract:
This paper addresses the assessment of tuning, interaction and coupling between vibratory non-structural elements and elastic-plastic buildings when subjected to seismic excitations. An extensive numerical parametric study of two-dimensional multi-story shear frames equipped with single-degree-of freedom oscillators is performed involving a set of 40 ground motions. The mentioned effects are found to be of minor significance in short period and long period structures, however, for medium period buildings their impact on both the building and non-structural seismic response must be considered in the elastic and moderately large elastic-plastic range of structural deformations.
