This contribution is on the temporal perspective of musical understanding. The characteristics of this perspective are: a point of view that is itself extended in clock time, the unlimited lifetime of the now, the motion of the now relative to the points of time that can be dated, the co-presence of past and present or future and present, respectively, in the consciousness performing the re- or pre-presentation. The paper ventures into showing that a perspective that is supposed to enable these properties and relationships cannot work if there is one and only one dimension of time to be made use of. Accordingly, musical understanding will resist conclusive conceptualisation as long as the degrees of freedom are not accounted for appropriately that this `form of vision` or, rather, this `from of audition` makes use of.

Der Beitrag untersucht die zeitliche Anschauungsform des musikalischen Verstehens. Charakteristisch für diese Form sind: die Zentrierung der Perspektive in einem eigenzeitlich ausgedehnten Jetzt, die unbegrenzte Lebensdauer dieses Jetzt, dessen ständige Bewegung relativ zu den datierbaren Stellen der Zeit, die Ko-Präsenz von Vergangenheit beziehungsweise Zukunft in der Gegenwart des Vorstellens, die Mit-Erinnerung des zeitlichen Horizonts der erinnerten Wahrnehmung. Eine Anschauungsform, die solche Präsentierungleistungen möglich macht, nimmt mehr als einen einzigen Freiheitsgrad in der Zeit in Anspruch. Die Untersuchung kommt zu dem Schluß, daß die phänomenologische Beschreibung der Musik eines Begriffs der Zeit bedarf, der die ununterbrochene Dauer des Jetzt und die Distanz, die das Jetzt zurücklegt, als Dimensionen unterscheidet.
