"the man" is libya´s revolutionary leader muammar gaddafi. his omnipresent images in libya´s streets do not only intensify the visible/intentional side of his official politics, but unintentionally reveal hidden aspects libya´s political life. furthermore new motives and forms of visual representations show the not always contrallable change of libyan society in recent years.

"the man" ist libyens revolutionsführer muammar gaddafi. seine omnipräsenten konterfeis im öffentlichen raum libyens verstärken nicht nur das sichtbare/absichtliche der offiziellen politik gaddafis, sondern enthüllen ungewollt auch das verdeckte/unsichtbare im politischen leben libyens. neue motive und formen bildlicher darstellungen im öffentlichen raum spiegeln darüber hinaus gehend den nicht immer steuerbaren wandel der libyschen gesellschaft in den letzten jahren wieder.
