Kurzfassung englisch:
Before the final disposal valuable components can be retrieved of steel slag, which accumulates in large amounts in the steel industry. E.g. for the production of Vanadium alkaline roasting is a suitable process. This transforms Vanadium, which is embedded in a spinel mineral-structure, into leachable Vanadates. Therefore, in the actual application steel-slag as a secondary raw material for Vanadium is roasted within a multiple-hearth-furnace. To establish a process simulation-program and to enable an efficient controller-design a dynamic model of the process has to be determined. Therefore, it is necessary to mathematically model the chemical reaction-kinetics of Vanadium. Since a literature survey did not contain enough information for a proper characterization of the reaction-kinetics, well defined experiments were carried out in laboratory-scale. Analysis of the influence of substantial chemical components and temperature on the reaction-rate resulted in a reaction-kinetics-model, summing up all heterogeneous effects, side reactions and product conversions within a set of rate laws.
