English abstract:
Large load reductions can be a problem for turbocharged gas engine
cogeneration units in stand alone operation since limits on engine speed / grid frequency have to be fulfilled. Closing the throttle plate too far can cause compressor surge and deflagrations in the exhaust system which can damage the engine. In this paper arising
problems are described and a control algorithm for avoiding them by switching off the ignition of single cylinders is presented. Experimental results are shown to give an impression of the quality of the developed control mechanism.
